Siemens Energy – PCS 7 System for Gas turbines

What the customer asked for

Siemens Energy requested Control Automation Solutions to implement 11 Turbine control systems for the AGT35 turbines onboard an FPSO. These control systems are PCS 7 package controls with a 1518H PLC as core engine controller unit.

These 11 package control systems were split between 4 power generators and 7 compressors, with a common redundant PCS 7 OS Server pair. Each turbine has its own HMI to control and monitor the turbine.

What Control Automation Solutions developed

Control Automation Solutions developed a multi project PCS 7 solution for, all the gas turbines to be in a single multi project, so the all use the same redundant OS server system. Each turbine was programmed in their own high available S7-410 PLC with a High available S7-1500 to control the core engine, and all turbines have their own WinCC Client in their control panel. Control Automation Solutions built the solution and then tested a single application for each design with the Siemens Energy team in Norway.

What Control Automation Solutions delivered

Control Automation Solutions delivered and commissioned the PCS 7 platform for the FPSO, and integrated the software for each turbine onsite. Control Automation Solutions also setup a multi path network solutions with so the system can handle multiple equipment failure and still stay online.
